Two careers, one calling — helping people find their way forward.
Ross Therapy and Wellness was founded by Daniel and Stephanie Ross to provide compassionate, personalized mental and behavioral health care, and to support the therapists who provide it.
Daniel Ross
Co-Owner · Therapist · Clinical Trainer
MSW, LCSW, CTTP, LASOP
Daniel came to clinical social work as a second career, becoming a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in 2014 after years of community-based work — including supporting people experiencing homelessness, individuals on probation and parole, and Native American and Pueblo communities in New Mexico.
Today, Daniel works with children, adolescents, and adults on behavioral concerns, trauma, anxiety, depression, substance use, and family and marital issues, and provides clinical supervision and training for therapists building their careers.
Stephanie Ross
Co-Owner · Therapist
LCSW
Stephanie's path into therapy began in New Mexico, where she started her social work studies and became a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in 2012. She spent years working alongside Daniel in community mental health, including with people experiencing homelessness and individuals involved in the justice system.
Stephanie works with clients age 13 and older, addressing anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship stress, and family dynamics, and incorporates EMDR into her sessions for clients working through trauma and distressing memories.
What Sets Us Apart
Between the two of us, we've worked across a wide and varied range of mental and behavioral health needs — which means wherever you're starting from, chances are we've walked alongside someone else who started there too.
Daniel's Focus
Children, Adolescents & Families

Stephanie's Focus
Ages 13+ & EMDR
Stephanie works with clients age 13 and up on the same broad range of concerns, and incorporates EMDR into her sessions for clients working through trauma and difficult memories.
The Ross Therapy Story
Daniel and Stephanie Ross came to therapy as second careers — after their kids had headed off to college, both found their way back to school, first drawn toward physical anthropology and archaeology, and eventually toward social work. The path began in New Mexico, where Stephanie started her social work studies after a conversation with a friend. A couple of years later, Daniel followed.
Stephanie became a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in 2012, and Daniel followed in 2014. Working side by side, they spent years in community mental health, supporting people experiencing homelessness, working with individuals on probation and parole, and partnering with an agency serving the Native American and Pueblo communities of New Mexico.
Eventually, the pull of family brought them to Illinois, closer to their grandkids and their son and daughter-in-law. That move became the opening for something they'd both been working toward for years: opening their own private practice, built on everything they'd learned along the way. Today, Ross Therapy and Wellness sits at 100 S Atkinson Rd, Suite 202, in Grayslake, IL, serving clients throughout Lake County including Libertyville, Gurnee, Lake Villa, and Lindenhurst.
Both Licensed Clinical Social Workers, Daniel and Stephanie bring years of clinical experience to every session, working with individuals age 12 and up, couples, and families. Clients can reach the office directly at (224) 501-0479 to schedule an appointment or ask questions about getting started. Whether you're looking for individual therapy, couples counseling, or supervision as a fellow clinician, this Grayslake practice offers a steady, licensed presence for the whole community.
